CI 345 Raft by Tiffany Parker

ASSIGNMENT: Create an educational poster about anything you learned about the atom from the point of view of the subject. Your poster's goal should be to learn about your topic! Use the Raft strategy to complete this, putting the Raft information on the back. An example is below.

RAFT
Role: Electron
Audience: 10-12th graders
Format: Learning-Oriented Poster
Topic:  Electron function in atoms

Electrons:
Don’t Overlook The Little Guy!

The Electron may be small, but we are important!

We get stolen from our homes; become the rope of a tug-a-war game, and scientists
are constantly messing with us to try and create new elements.

Yes, we get pushed around….

BUT

Before you look us over as unimportant, remember:

Without us, you wouldn’t have air to breathe.

You wouldn’t have water to drink.
(After all, who do you think the Oxygen and Hydrogens are playing Tug-O-War over?)

You would have no salt to flavor your food.
(The mean Chlorine atoms steal us from Sodium.)

Not that flavor would matter, since there would be no food for you to eat.

Most important, you wouldn’t know any of this.
Without us, there wouldn’t be you!

Learn About Us
